BP Highway that connects the Capital to east Nepal with a shorter distance and time has come into full operation since Sunday reports THT online.

The construction had begun 17 years ago with a financial assistance of Government of Japan.

The Highway stretching from Dhulikhel of Kavre to Bardibas of Mahottari is 156-kilometre long. Though the complete construction completed recently, vehicles were plying on the road for last few years.

The Highway, however, is yet to get inaugurated officially.

A team of high officials including Banepa-Bardibas Road Project chief Bharaj Kaji Devaju and Sindhuli Chief District Officers Bushnu Prasad Pokhrel monitored the road today.
