Since her arrival as ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams has been taking a series of steps to enhance the bilateral and economic relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The ambassador has been engaged in activities from bringing artists to poets and scholars together to organising trade expo. Minister for Supplies Deepak Bohara and Ambassador Ms. Mashfee Binte Shams inaugurated the 3rd Bangladesh Expo-2017, a single country trade fair.

The Expo being held at Bhrukutimandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu, and will run till January 21.

The Expo is showcasing products of entrepreneurs and renowned business houses from Bangladesh, including building and construction materials, readymade garments, plastic products, cosmetics, ceramics/tiles, jute and jute products, leather products, textiles, footwear, electronics items, handicrafts, generators/machineries, processed food, IT solutions, education institutions, consumer products, batteries, cement, bathroom fittings, motor cycle, home Appliance, jewelry etc. Selected Nepalese exporters have also been invited to showcase their products at the Expo with a view to promoting Nepalese exports to Bangladesh. It is expected that the Expo will create a platform for exchange of information and ideas and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs of the two countries to explore B-2-B linkages for harnessing the available synergies in the areas of trade and business for mutual benefit.

The inaugural programme was also attended by Naindra Prasad Upadhaya, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce of Nepal, Hari Bhakti Sharma, President, CNI, Dr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, President, NCC and Bhawani Rana, Senior Vice President, FNCCI as Special Guests.
