CNI Stresses Complete Economic Freedom

Chairman Narendra Kumar Basnyat of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) met chairman of Constituent Assembly Subash Chandra Nembang calling for inclusion of CNI's suggestions in the draft constitution.

Chairman Narendra Kumar Basnyat of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) met chairman of Constituent Assembly Subash Chandra Nembang calling for inclusion of CNI's suggestions in the draft constitution.

CNI senior vice-president, office bearers and governing council members were present on the occasion, according to a press release.

Receiving the suggestions, CA chair Nembang said that the suggestions would be handed over to the constitution drafting committee. 

Presenting the suggestions, CNI chair Basnyat said that there was no alternative other than to make sure the new constitution would be a document for democratic stability and economic prosperity in new Nepal.

Basnyat also said that CNI wanted to see the new constitution accepted the philosophy of open, liberal and market-oriented economy and assured economic justice and freedom for industrial and professional growth.

"The constitution needs to guarantee complete economic freedom," said Basnyat.
