The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu today said a joint working team to be headed by Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jianchao will be visiting  Nepal from Thursday. During his stay to Nepal, assistant foreign minister Liu is expected to announce some new humanitarian package to Nepal.

At a time when various dignitaries including India’s senior officials have already visited Nepal, this is the first time China’s senior foreign ministry official is coming to Nepal.

Along with India, China provided much needed early support to Nepal in carrying out relief and rescue operation. China also supported to reopen Kodari high way and Kerung Syaphrubeshi road.
