Coca-Cola Officially Inaugurated “Pheri Uthne Cha Nepal” Campaign

To take this message of hope and positivity to all corners of the country, Coca-Cola “Pheri UthneChha Nepal” campaign unveiled a special anthem penned by Ranjit Acharya and composed by Jems Pradhan. The anthem highlights the bravery and resilience shown by the Nepali citizens as an example to inspire others to come forward in rebuilding the nation.

In a first of its kind initiative in Nepal, the special anthem was sung by 12 leading singers including Ani Chhoying Dolma, Sugam Pokharel, Indira Joshi,AdrianPradhan,Deepak Bajracharya, Nirnaya Da NSK, SomeaBaraily, Kamal Khatri, Jems Pradan, Adre- along with 8 young students from Maiti Nepal. The anthem brings forth the energetic Nepali spirit and the determination of the youth to move forward and do something for the nation.

 Combining vast different musical genres- from Folk, Rock and Pop to Rap, the accompanying music video, directed by popular Nepali film director Nischal Basnet, further builds on the same spirit.

This year saw one of the biggest natural disasters to strike Nepal. In face of unprecedented adversity, the resilience, diligence and positivity shown by the Nepali people has been remarkable and has touched hearts of people both within Nepal and outside. Soon after the earthquake, instances of heart-warming courage, fortitude and heroism emerged that filled the Nepalese and the world with positivity and hope. These heroes, including young men and women, who were from all parts of the country volunteered and worked hard under trying circumstances to put the country and its people back on track.

“Around the world, for more than a century, Coca-Cola has stood for optimism and positivity and this same spirit, shown by Nepali people inspired Coca-Cola to initiate the campaign “Pheri Uthne Chhe Nepal”. Through Pheri Uthne Chhe Nepal, Coca-Cola salutes all those individuals for their selfless effort in rebuilding the country and seeks to play a small role in furthering this spirit,” said a press release.

Alok Kohli, Country Manager of Coca-Cola in Nepal said at the launch, “In the coming days when rebuilding the nation will remain a pressing priority for times to come, the need of sense of unity, resilience, diligence and positivity will only increase. Through this new campaign, Coca – Cola is playing a small role, that of a catalyst, so that we can together further energize and spread this spirit of Rising Nepal….Pheri  Uthne Chha Nepal”

Salman Latif Rawn, MD, Bottler Nepal Limited said, “As we work deep within communities of the country, it has always been the endeavour of Bottlers Nepal Limited and Bottlers Nepal Terai Limited to be an integral part of the nation. As we launch ‘Coca-Cola Phir Uthne Chhe Nepal’, we are confident that the spirit of Nepalese people will be further emboldened and the campaign will act as a positive influence throughout the length and breadth of the Nepal.”

In its effort to help in providing healthcare, shelter and to help reconnect families, The Coca-Cola Foundation has already contributed US $1 million to the American National Red Cross, which is working in partnership with the Nepal Red Cross Society. Additionally, in the immediate aftermath, the contribution also included distribution of Kinley water bottles to various hospitals and temporary shelters. Going further, Coca-Cola system in Nepal will continue to work with communities to find opportunities to join hands and playing a further role in Nepal rising
