Indian Assistance to Darchula

Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae inaugurated Shree Pashupati Shiksha Mandir constructed with Government of India assistance of NRs.5 million.

Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae inaugurated Shree Pashupati Shiksha Mandir constructed with Government of India assistance of NRs.5 million.

 According to a press release, an additional Memorandum of Understanding was also signed to provide 1.5 million rupees for procurement of furniture and computers for the school.

The school is located in Darchula district bordering India in the far western region of Nepal.  The school was established in 1994 as a primary school has been upgraded to lower secondary school.  Total number of students in the school is 525 out of which 45% are girls.

Underlining the importance of strengthening of educational infrastructure for Nepal’s overall development Ambassador in his address expressed the hope that the various projects being executed or completed under the Nepal – India Economic Cooperation Program will help the people of Nepal in their quest towards peace and prosperity.

In addition to these projects, work is also ongoing with Government of India assistance for 03 more projects at a cost of NRs.66.1 Million in Darchula District.  India has also provided 02 ambulances for various organizations of the   District.  Apart from this, over 238 Educational Organizations all over in the Nepal have been assisted by Government of India at a cost of NRs.6337 Million.

Under the India – Nepal Economic Program which has an outlay of over NRs. 75 billion, more than 502 large and small development projects have been completed or are currently being implemented in almost all the districts of Nepal. These development projects mainly in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development have been undertaken in response to local needs, and in partnership with the Government of Nepal.
