India Provides Support to Road Project

Indian Ambassador  to Nepal Ranjit Rae handed over a Cheque for an amount of NRs. 24,97,10,698.17 to Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak at Singha Durbar Kathmandu.

The amount has been released towards 25% of tendered cost (including 10% mobilization advance) of the four contracted road stretches namely Birendrabazaar-Mahinathpur, Janakpur-Yadukuwa road, Manmat-Kalaiya-Matiarwa (0-15 km road) and Manmat-Kalaiya-Matiarwa (15-26.660 km road) being implemented under Postal Highway Project in Nepal with Indian government grant assistance of  NRs. 8000 million.

According to Indian Embassy, the two completed roads Dhangadhi-Bhajaniya-Satti road and Lamki-Tikapur-Khakraula road constructed with Indian grant assistance worth NRs 1020 million were inaugurated at Dhangadhi jointly by the Ambassador of India to Nepal and the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal.

Since 1950, the Govt. of India has been supporting infrastructure development of Nepal and has provided financial assistance for construction of various Highways, Roads, Bridges, Airports, etc. as part of its multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Program.
