India provides Assistance of NRs. 21.76 million for construction of Mathadhis Building for Shri Budhanilkanth Temple

Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae and Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs Minister,  Narhari Acharya  jointly laid the foundation stone for construction of Mathadhis Building for Budhanilkantha Temple at Kathmandu.

According to a press release of Indian Embassy, the project is being implemented by the District Development Committee, Kathmandu in consultation and coordination with Narayan Area Development Committee at a cost of NRs. 21.76 million.

Budhanilkantha Temple of Kathmandu which has a great religious and cultural significance for Hindus all over the world and thousands of pilgrims apart from tourists from India and elsewhere in the world visit the temple daily. The significance of the popular Budhanilkantha Temple is not limited to religion and culture, but is also largely appreciated for its artistry.

The Mathadhis building will also be used by the students of Gurukul of Shree Budhanilkanth Temple.  The project underlines the importance accorded by India to the preservation and promotion of the rich religious, cultural and historical heritage of Nepal, which is in the spirit of the strong and close bonds between the two countries.

In addition to this project, 10 projects have been completed with Government of India Assistance of NRs.213.7 million in the District.  Also work is ongoing for 12 other projects at a cost of NRs.486.7 million in Kathmandu District. India has also provided 38 ambulances, 03 special Medical Vans  and 32 school buses for various organisation in the district.  Apart from this, Government of India has also extended its assistance of around NRs.300 million for renovation, restoration, updation of various religious, cultural and historical sites of Nepal.
