Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae returned to Kathmandu after concluding his two days visit to Sindhuli, Sarlahi and Rautahat Districts of Nepal. During the visit, he inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various small development projects being executed or completed with Indian financial assistance of NR 155 million as part of India–Nepal Economic Cooperation Program.

Ambassador Rae reached Sindhuli and witnessed MoU signing ceremony for construction of a three storey building for Sindhuli Community Technical Institute.

Similarly, Ambassador Rae inaugurated a school building for Janata Secondary School in Harkathwa VDC built with Indian grant assistance of NR 17 million. In his address, the Ambassador remarked that the Sarlahi District has benefitted from the Small Development Project Scheme of the Government of India where 07 projects have been completed and 12 other projects are at various stages of implementation.

Ambassador Rae also laid the foundation stone for a school building for Shree Higher Secondary School to be constructed with India’s grant assistance of NRs 44 million. The Ambassador said that he believed that all children have the right to go to school and it is our responsibility to provide necessary supporting environment. The true purpose of this school is to inspire them to work hard and achieve their dreams. The Government of India has in the past provided financial assistance of NR 108 million for 04 completed and 01 ongoing project in Rautahat District. Additionally, 15 ambulances and 02 buses have also been donated to different organization working in health and education sector.

“The construction of new schools and Institute in Sindhuli, Sarlahi and Rautahat would enhance accessibility and availability of the education related infrastructure in these Districts,” said a press release issued by Indian Embassy.

According to a press release of Embassy, the new facilities would help in dealing with the shortage of classrooms in these schools and would benefit thousands of children of the region.
