Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat Visited Nepal

Chief of Army Staff of India, General Bipin Rawat completed 4-day visit  and left on 28th March, 2017.  Ambassador of India to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri hosted a welcome Luncheon at India House on his arrival which was attended by senior officers of the Nepal Army including CoAS Genemeral Rajendra Chhetri. 

General Bipin Rawat laid wreath at Tundikhel which was followed by a Guard of Honour by the Nepalese Army at Nepal Army Headquarters.

 The Nepal Army received a gift of seven horses from the Indian Army. Organizing a special function, visiting Chief of Army Staff of India, General Bipin Rawat, handed over a stallion light breed, two brood mares, two gelds and two donkey stallions to his Nepali Counterpart General Rajendra Chhetri.

General Rawat was conferred the title of 'Honorary General of the Nepal Army' by President of Nepal Smt Bidhya Devi Bhandari in a grand ceremony at the Sheetal Niwas.

“General Rawat also paid a courtesy call on Defence Minister Sri Bal Krishna Khand at Singha Durbar and General Rajendra Chhetri at the NA Headquarters today. He visited the Nepal Army High Altitude Warfare School Jomsom and Pension Paying Office Pokhra and called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said a press release issued by Indian Embassy.
