KOICA Volunteer supports in Improving the clinical environment and skill advancement.

“KOICA volunteer with the support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) completed the project for improving the clinical environment and skill advancement at School of health science, Chitwan. KOICA supported a total of 48,600 USD for this project. KOICA has been partnering with the school of health science for a period of over 15 years,” said a press release by KOICA.

The inauguration ceremony was held at School of health science, Bharatpur on April 26, 2017. The project was successfully completed with the joint efforts of all staffs of School of health science and KOICA volunteer. According to KOICA, this project aims at improving the clinical environment and skills of the students by constructing herb garden. Furthermore, this project also supports a bus to strengthen the practical skills of the students. Following to the completion of the project, more students will be benefitted with effective learning. The official handover was done by Country director of KOICA Nepal office Dr. Hyungkyoo Kim where he addressed the need and importance of ownership towards the project from the recipient organization’s side. He further hoped to strengthen the relationship between the two organizations in the future.

KOICA’s volunteer program is one of the main programs to contribute to socio-economic development of the partner countries at the grass root level. KOICA dispatches Korean national volunteers to partner government organizations as per the need of expertise, knowledge, and experience. Each volunteer serves in Nepal for 2 years in various fields such as education, health, agriculture, ICT etc. Currently, 3 advisors & 27 KOICA volunteers are actively working in various government sectors in accordance with an agreement between the governments of Korea and Nepal.
