Peace Corps Volunteers deputed

201st Group of Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn In

Thirty Peace Corps Volunteers were sworn in by Ambassador Peter W. Bodde and the Peace Corps/Nepal Country Director Nelson Chase to begin their two-year service in Nepal.   The new Volunteers join the ranks of the more than 4200 Volunteers that have served before them here in Nepal since 1961, and the more than 7200 other Peace Corps Volunteers currently serving in 65 other countries around the world.  This group of Volunteers is the third to arrive in Nepal since the Peace Corps program re-opened in 2012.

According to a press release issued by Public Affairs Section Embassy of The United States ,the thirty Peace Corps Volunteers arrived in September 2014 and underwent 11 weeks of intensive language and technical training in Kavre District in preparation for their service.  The Volunteers have been assigned to districts in the Western and Far Western regions to work on food security, sanitation, and health projects.
