Bandha concludes In Nepal

The UCPN (Maoist)-led 30-party alliance has withdrawn today’s banda enforced across the country after 4 pm.

According to Khimlal Devkota, UCPN (M) leader, they withdrew the banda one hour before than scheduled time in view of difficulties faced by the general public.

Devkota also claimed that the banda organized by the 30-party allaince was peaceful and successful one.

With the end of the banda programs, vehicles have started to play on the roads.

UCPN (M) had called today’s banda in a bid to exert pressure on ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML for promulgating new constitution through consensus.

Meanwhile, the cadres of the 30-party alliance led by the UCPN (Maoist) vandalized a vehicle with Indian registration number during a general strike at Mahottari district headquarters, Jaleshwor on Tuesday.

The 30-party alliance organized various protest programs across the country to exert pressure on the ruling parties and the government to promulgate constitution by forging political consensus.
