With the cabinet decision to go with previous consultants on Tanahu Hydro Project, two week row over the selection of process of consultants on the project come to an end. The cabinet on Thursday decided to pick the same consultant selected by the Asian Development Bank reversing the earlier decisions taken by the Ministry of Energy on the section process of consultant.

The cabinet decided to pick a joint venture of Lahmeyer International of Germany and Manitoba Hydro International of Canada clearing the controversy about the qualification of the consultants selected by the ADB upon request of Tanahu Hydropower Ltd.

Minister for Energy Radha Gyawali informed that the ADB has made commitments to address concerns raised by her ministry regarding the special qualification of handling sedimentation and flushing of the project.

She further said that the decision has been taken on the condition of completing the project on the given deadline and without any cost overrun.
