This edition of Cinemandu screened critically acclaimed and commercially successful Nepali feature film Talakjung vs Tulke. Directed by Nischal Basnet and produced by Rabindra Singh Baniya and Black Horse Pictures and Shatkon, Talakjung vs Tulke is a film based slightly on the Maoist insurgency in Nepal.

Director Nishchal Basnet, actor-producer Rabindra Singh Baniya, writer and actor Khagendra Lamichhane and actress Reecha Sharma joined the screening of the film. After the screening of the movie, the filmmakers and the actors interacted with the audience.

Actor and producer Rabindra Singh Baniya shared about his theatrical journey in his career to the cinemascope and on becoming a producer now. The crew also elaborated on the challenges they went through while making the movie and expressed gratitude to their audience for their appreciation and constructive critical views.

“Many a times, it can be challenging to leave the movie with an open ending. But at the same time it is interesting to leave your audience play with their mind to understand the conclusion of the movie. Yes there are a few loopholes and we will make sure that we will keep them away in our upcoming movies,” director Nischal Basnet shared.

Embassy of India and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation will be organizing 21st edition of Voices: social activist Anuradha Koirala on Her Journey from the Self to Others on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 3 pm at Nepal-Bharat Library. The entry to the event is FREE and open to all.
