Seventeen Indian Pilgrims Die In Dhading Bus Accident

Seventeen people were killed and several others injured when a bus carrying Indian pilgrims veered off the Prithvi highway and fell some 200 meters down in Dhading district on Wednesday morning. Thirteen were killed on the spot while four others succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital.

The bus with Indian registration number plate GJ14X9900 fell some 200 meters down the road while negotiating a sharp bend along the downhill stretch of Prithivi Highway at Jhyaprekhola in Dhading district at around 6:40 this morning. Police said the passengers were Indian pilgrims and were returning to Gorakhpur in India after a pilgrimage to Pashupatinath Temple e-Kantipur online reports.

Around three dozen passengers injured in the accident have been brought to the Capital and are receiving treatment at various hospitals including Teaching Hospital, Vayodaha Hospital, Shahid Memorial Hospital and Norvic Hospital.
