The 30-party alliance of the opposition parties led of UCPN-Maoist called off Nepal banda scheduled for Thursday.

A meeting of the alliance held at Singhadurbar today took the decision to this effect.

The meeting also has rescheduled its protest programs starting from March 31 following the proposal from UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Dahal had proposed to call of protest programs but three-day general strike.

"The protest programs including Nepal banda on Thursday has been called off," Manish Suman, a leader of Sadbhawana Party after the meeting said. However, the alliance has decided to go with a three-day general strike (April 7-9).
