U.S. Officials Discuss On Disaster Response In Nepal

"The resilience of the Nepali people will get ‪‎Nepal through this crisis," said Ambassador Peter Bodde today -- underlining the importance of Nepalis helping Nepalis.

According to a press release of U.S. Embassy, Ambassador Peter Bodde, General Paul Kennedy, Colonel Lee Anderson, and USAID Disaster Assistance Response Team Leader Bill Berger shared today how the United States is augmenting the Nepali Government's disaster response.

American non-governmental organizations, charities, and the private sector play an important role in disaster relief efforts -- including now in ‪Nepal.

Today, U.S. reps from Direct Relief and One Heart World-Wide shared how they are delivering 60 tons, or $15.8 million worth of medicine and medical equipment to Nepal, with FedEx providing emergency airlifts that began arriving today. They shared how they made it happen with Ambassador Peter Bodde, USAID Nepal Mission Director Beth Dunford, and Disaster Assistance Response Team Leader Bill Berger.
