U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Administrator, Alfonso E. Lengardt has arrived in Nepal. The Acting Administrator is assessing the on-the-ground situation to best inform USAID’s continuing support to the people of Nepal following the NepalEarthquake.
According to U.S. Embassy, he will meet with government officials, including Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Army Chief of Staff, and other USAID partners. He will also conduct an aerial survey and distribute relief supplies in some of the worst affected areas.
Acting Administrator Lenhardt greeted brave USAID Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members. To date, USAID has provided $12.5 million for earthquake relief assistance in Nepal.
