The U.S. Embassy is bringing NOMADIC WAX COLLECTIVE, a five-member fusion group of American hip hop and jazz artist, to Nepal.  During their weeklong visit (May 5 – 10), the artists will collaborate with music schools in Kathmandu and will conduct music workshops and public performances.  The program is part of the U.S. Department of State’s American Music Abroad (AMA), which is a people-to-people exchange program designed to bring America’s rich musical and cultural diversity onto the global scene.

According to Public Affairs Section Embassy of The United States, NOMADIC WAX COLLECTIVE is made up of some of New York’s finest artists and educators. The ensemble features hip-hop MC and educator Mikal Amin Lee, aka “HG,” music director and bassist Colin Dean, drummer and educator Cory Cox, keyboardist Beck Burger and turntable master DJ Boo.  Together, they create something fresh and new from a palette of high-energy musical styles. This global collective of American musicians has played together for seven years in over twenty countries on four continents.  Please check the U.S. Embassy Kathmandu Facebook page for details on public concerts.
