A Grant Contract relating to this project is scheduled to be signed and exchanged on 18 March at the Embassy of Japan in Nepal between Masashi OGAWA, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, and Ram Chandra Kaphle, Chairman, Nepalese Humanitarian Help Organization.

According to a press release of Japanese Embassy, this grant assistance will be used to construct two water pumps and water pumps houses; three water tanks; thirty one distribution tap stands, and a total of 8,640 meters of pipe line to provide safe drinking water for the people in Ward numbers 7, 8 and 9 of Chyangli VDC, Gorkha District. This area, due to the geo-structure, is very dry and it is difficult to access to water..

This project will provide safe water stability to 713 households, which is 4,278 people, and it is expected to mitigate diseases caused by unsanitary water and to reduce working hours of women and children by reducing the time they spend fetching water.

The Embassy of Japan expects that this project will improve people’s lives in Chyangli Village and it will become an example to others areas, encouraging them to seek improved drinking water facilities and access.
