The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announce the opening of the 2015 Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP).  The TSP is sponsored by ECA and administered through a cooperative agreement with The Tibet Fund, in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Department of Education.  Since 1988, U.S. Department of State has provided funding for the Tibetan Scholarship Program so that Tibetan students from India and Nepal can pursue higher education in the United States.  Most students enroll in a two-year Master’s Degree program at universities across America.  Since the TSP was made available to Tibetan students in Nepal in 2012, there have been two winners.

According to a press release of Public Affairs Section Embassy of The United States, upon completion of their master’s degrees in the United States, TSP participants are expected to return to their communities and use their experience and education toward making a positive impact.  Applications are due on March 31, 2015.  For more information, visit www.tibetfund.org/prog_education.html
