The popular hill top Hattiban Resort located at an altitude of 1852m just 15 km south west of Kathmandu will be playing host to a festival of a different kind this June. The Himalayan Outdoor Festival scheduled to be held on 1,2, and 3 June is slated to be the first of its kind event that will be a mix of adventure outdoor sports and plenty of entertainment. The three day festival will have events like the Champa Devi Uphill Challenge, HOF Dual Race, Dyno Competition, slack race, rope climbing, live and Dj music, Ice-axe pull up, acrobatic paragliding among others.
The event is being held to introduce and promote outdoor adventure sports in Nepal and is targeted at the expatriate community, the corporate sector and outdoor enthusiasts. The three day festival is being conducted with a Leave No Trace policy according to which organizers along with volunteers will be cleaning up the festival site on the last day and bringing back the garbage collected.
