PRISM (Poverty Reduction of Informal Waste Workers in Solid Waste Management Sector) a joint initiation of CIUD (Centre for Integrated Urban Development) in partnership with Practical Action Nepal supported by European Union, on the occasion of 199th Bhanu Jayanti organized an "Inter School Poem Competition" with the theme "Personal hygiene and use of safety equipments ensures occupational safety in the waste collection". 8 different schools from 3 different districts (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) of valley participated with a total no. of 40 students as active participants. Mr. Angad Mani Gautam (Professor, Tri Chandra College) was the only judge for the event.

"Waste workers help us to stay healthy in clean environment, by collecting and cleaning up the  garbage from our community. They are the good people living around us and therefore should be respected always", said Haribansh Acharya.

Sagar Kadel and Memu Tamang were the winners from Mahendra Bouddha H.S.S (senior and junior respectively).
