BAHRAICH: The labour minister of the state Vaqar Ahmad Shah reprimanded the project director of national highways authority for dilly dallying the repairing works of Lucknow-Rupaidiha road (Indo-Nepal border). Shah ordered the PD to start the repairing works immediately, who assured the labour minister to start the repairing work on Lucknow-Rupaidiha Road immediately. The labour minister was extremely annoyed at the bad condition of the roads between Ghaghra to Rupaidiha, he called the PD at the inspection house of PWD and inquired about the delay in the repairing works of this road and ordered him to complete the repairing works of this road under any circumstances. The PD stated that the repairing works of this road would start immediately.
The labour minister the ordered the PD Pawan Verma at the inspection house of PWD in a meeting with the district magistrate (DM) Bahraich Kinjal Singh that he himself would inspect the worst condition of the road from Bahraich to Rupaidiha and start the work immediately. The chief development officer (CDO) and the PD of NHI Pawan Verma visited from Bahraich to Rupaidiha and made extensive inspection of the roads in worst condition. The PD told following the inspection that at the moment the govt has Rs 63 lakh for repairing of Lucknow-Rupaidiha road and the works is being started.
Earlier the local villagers made the PD of NHI hostage for three hours as a protest of not doing the repairing works of road and he was later released by the villagers after the DM Bahraich Kinjal Singh assured them to complete the works on time.
