Yang Houlan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, attended an interaction at the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), and exchanged ideas on the issues of China-Nepal economic and trade cooperation.  Binod Chaudhary, President of CNI, Sujit Acharya, Convener of Energy Development Council of CNI, and Govind Prasad Kusum, former Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs of Nepal, attended the program.


Chaudhary said that China was the engine of global economy and may become the world's largest economy by the year 2020. As China's close neighbor, Nepal wishes to benefit from China's development, and bring in Chinese technology and investment. As the main organization of Nepal's large and medium companies, CNI has already established connection with CCPIT and Boao Forum for Asia. CNI hopes to be the cooperative platform for the companies between China and Nepal, between China and South Asia.


Ambassador Yang highly valued the development of China-Nepal relations, and China-Nepal economic and trade cooperation. He said that Nepal is located between the two emerging economies of China and India, and has rich natural resources. The potential of Nepal's development is big. Nepal's political transition may have some negative impact on bilateral cooperation. However, he believed that the problems will be solved through amicable negotiations and enhanced communications. China will continue to encourage qualified Chinese enterprises to participate in the economic construction and social development of Nepal. He said he would like to join hands with CNI to promote win-win cooperation between China and Nepal in various areas.
