Ambassador of Israel along with other diplomatic staff employed at the Embassy of Israel, Kathmandu, casted their ballots on Thursday, 10 January 2013, here in Nepal.  This ballot is prior to the Israeli national elections slated for Tuesday, 22 January 2013.  These elections will determine the composition of the 19th Knesset (Israeli Parliament) and the government to be established based on its results.  In Israeli context, the Prime Minister, who heads Israel's government, is chosen from among the members of the newly elected Knesset.

Israeli government makes special arrangements for the diplomats serving in different Embassies to cast their votes in the respective countries.  The ballots casted here in Nepal will be sent to Israel via diplomatic mail.

These elections were held nine months prior to the original proposed dates.  Early elections were declared by the Parliament due to the failure to pass new budget of 2013.
