Nepal Army has launched rescue and rehabilitation operation in flood affected district of far-west region.

Nepal Army has launched rescue and rehabilitation operation in flood affected district of far-west region. According to Nepal Army Headquarter, Nepal Army has been using helicopters in rescue operation.

The flood washed out 72 houses in Khlanga, district headquarter of Darchula district. The flood also killed four in Baitadi district causing huge damage of property worth of billions of rupees.

More than two dozen have already killed in flood and landslides caused by heavy monsoon rain in far western and mid-western region.  According to Ministry of Home Affairs, 12 people killed in Kalikot district when a massive landslide washed out houses. Similarly, seven people died after two houses collapsed in Dailekh district.

The heavy flood in Mahakali river devastated district headquarter of Darchula killing at least five people and destroying many government offices and private house. The flood damaged the suspension bridge linking Darchula of Nepal and Dharchula of India.

Along with Darchula, the flood also affected the plain areas in Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura.
