The DREE was designed as an exchange to facilitate the flow of the information between the Emergency Management Agencies and USARPAC on their disaster management capabilities. It focused to bring the civil and military subject matter expertise from Nepal and United States for the disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, humanitarian assistance and best practices.

The interactive FTX will be focused on the medical response, urban search and rescue, engineer and logistics. The discussion and sharing of the experiences and information will build working relationships and foster inter-agency efforts in future humanitarian efforts.

The Table Top Exercise (TTX) was held in the February 2013 to strengthen preparedness to respond and operationalize the command control structures. As Nepal is prone to the natural disaster like earthquake, the National Disaster Response Framework has been formulated to manage the response and the fund provided by the international community during the time of such disaster. The FTX with the motto "Unity of Effort" resembles the situation in such disaster and the preparedness of assistive efforts within the short time.
