Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Gaurav SJB Rana returned after completing his official visit to United Kingdom. He visited United Kingdom on the official invitation of British Chief of the General Staff General Sir Peter wall. He left UK on September 06.
The regular visits from military leaders from both countries have fostered the relations between the two countries. Earlier Gen Wall had visited Nepal on November.
According to Nepal Army, during the visit, CoAS Rana met with Foreign Commonwealth Office Minister Hugo Swire, British CGS General Sir Peter Wall, Chief of Defence Service General Sir Nicholas Houghton, and DFID Director Chirs Murgatroyd.
CoAS Rana also visited Royal College of Defence Studies, Seaford, London, Defence Academy, Swindon, Oxfordshire, College of Management and Technology, Watchfield, Oxfordshire, Higher Command Staff Course College, Shrivenham, Oxfordshire and Defence Explosives Ordinance Disposal Munitions and Search Training Regiment, Kineton, Warwickshire.
CoAS Rana was welcomed by CGS Lt Gen Netra Bahadur Thapa. High ranking offcials from Defence Ministry, high ranking officers and residential Defense Attaches were present during the occasion.
