Two Nepal police women, one from the Armed Police Force and one from the Nepal Police met with United States Ambassador Peter W. Bodde.  Armed Police Force DSP Dr. Dipta Lama and Nepal Police DSP Durga Singh left for Durban South Africa to attend the 51st annual International Association of Women Police Training Conference being held from September 21-26.

According to Public Affairs Section Embassy of the United States, the press release of The IAWP Conference presents a unique opportunity for women police from all nations to attend presentations and training with their colleagues and learn about policing trends and best practices from all around the world.  The DSPs will be exposed to international norms in policing, and learn from female police from a variety of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

With this exposure comes a unique ability to bring back new ideas and methods of policing to Nepal, as well as to share their own experiences with the other conference attendees. This travel and all expenses are being funded by the U.S. Embassy.
