Ninth Edition of Cinemandu: Screening of Shirish Ko Phool

Indian Embassy screened Nepali feature film Shrish Ko Phool

Indian Embassy and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized the ninth edition of Cinemandu, a BPKF Initiative at Nepal Bharat Library in Nepal Airlines Building on December 5.

The ninth edition of Cinemandu screened critically acclaimed Nepali feature film Shirish Ko Phool: a film based on a popular novel by Parijaat Shirish Ko Phool, which is directed by Toshi Yaki Itoh, co-directed by Desh Bhakta Khanal and Bijay Ratna Tuladhar.

The main actor, also the producer of the film Ganesh Lama, cinematographer of the film Gauri Shankar, sound editor Deep Tuladhar and other actors of the film Chandani Lama and Shyam Rai joined the screening of the film with their audience.

According to a press release of Indian Embassy, after the screening of the film the actors and the co-directors interacted with the audience.

The interaction shed light on the new wave of cinema making, the challenges the makers have to come through while making a film on a celebrated literature work, the story behind the making of Shirish Ko Phook, the differences between fiction and reality in the cinema, the critical perception of the movie, the new experiments in storytelling and more.
