Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) and KOICA Alumni Association of Nepal(KAAN) organized a Knowledge sharing Seminar and Korean Nepal Friendship Night (KAAN Night 2013)

KAAN is an association established in 2001 to maintain good relation between KOICA and the Nepalese who have participated in KOICA’s short or long term Fellowship Programs. Its main purpose is to share knowledge and experiences learned in Korea and contribute in the development of nation. 

KOICA and KAAN are showcasing the thesis written by Master’s degree graduates who completed their study under KOICA’s scholarship in Korea. KOICA and KAAN has been organizing this kind of sharing program in order to give opportunity to  KOICA fellows to discuss  about their knowledge gained during their stay and study in Korea.  Each presenter is focusing in his interested area 1 is the Gender Quota System in Nepal and another is Application of New Village movement to in Nepal. Panelists as well as invitees from the relevant ministries joined program and discussed to find out how those thesis can be applied in the given situation in Nepal.

Under KOICA development cooperation assistance Human Resource Development has been one of the important sections of KOICA support in Nepal, since 1991 KOICA has already trained more than 1,000 government official in Korea in various development areas. This year 97 government officials visited Korea in order to participate in 30 different short/long term fellowship programs.  Chief Secretary Lila Mani Paudyal delivered his congratulatory message and wished to strengthen the ties between Korea and Nepal in the KAAN Night 2013 program as a Chief Guest.   

KOICA has been supporting KAAN every year in different programs which bridges and nurtures the relation between KOICA and KOICA fellows.
