The Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu together with International IDEA, Demo Finland and UN Women has brought to Nepal an exhibition titled “100 years of Women’s Voices and Action in Finland.” The exhibition will be open to the public at the Siddharta Art Gallery, Baber Mahal Revisited, Babar Mahal, Kathmandu between 10th -15th March, 2014. According to Embassy of Finland, guidance for school visits is made available every day of the exhibition
Asko Luukkainen, the Finnish Ambassador to Nepal will open the exhibition on Monday 10th March. Speakers at the event will also include the Country Representative of Demo Finland, Riikka Jalonen, the former Minister and CA member of Nepal from UCPN-Maoist, Hisila Yami, and the Secretary-General of the National Council of Women of Finland, Leena Ruusuvuori said a press release issued by Finland Embassy
The exhibition has been produced by The National Council of Women of Finland to celebrate the accomplishments and journey of Finnish women and men to gender parity and women’s equal political participation in the country over the past 100 years. The exhibition features the history of Finnish women with pictures and graphics. To date, it has been exhibited in various parts of the world to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s voting rights
