United States Ambassador to Nepal Peter W. Bodde met with Minister of Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Minister of Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya, and Minister of Education Chitralekha Yadav in separate meetings yesterday and today.  Ambassador Bodde and Minister Thapa discussed the importance of economic development for Nepal, economic reforms, and a proposed new investment policy in their meeting.  Ambassador Bodde and Minister Acharya discussed Nepal’s wildlife trafficking and conservation success stories, USAID’s environmental projects, and the potential for developing eco-tourism in Nepal.  Finally, Minister Yadav and Ambassador Bodde talked about the U.S. Embassy’s English Access Micro-scholarship program and USAID’s new early grade reading program.
