Indian Embassy and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized 13th edition of Cinemandu on Wednesday, April 30.This edition of Cinemandu screened critically acclaimed Nepali feature film Apabaad. One of the actors of the film and senior actor of Nepali film industry Rabi Giri along with the producer/cinematographer Sushan Prajapati and producer Suraj Koirala joined the screening of Apabaad.

A film targeted primarily to the young audience deals with the problems many youths have to face between choosing what the society expects them to do and what they in person want to achieve in their lives.

The cast and crew interacted with the audience after the screening of the film.

During the interaction, producer and cinematographer of the film Sushan Prajapati shared, “For somebody who had just graduated from a film school, it definitely was not an easy job to produce a film. Therefore, I and my crew chose to make this film on a minimum budget. We however did not compromise with the quality of the film. I understand there might be some glitches in the movie but we will try to learn from them and ignore them in the coming ventures.”

Actor Rabi Giri shared, “In my acting career so far, I have approximately done 300 films. Out of them, there are only five or six movies that I am always happy being a part of. One is Apabaad.”

Head of Press, Information and Culture and Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation said, “We started Cinemandu exactly a year ago with Loot. Ever since then the popularity of Cinemandu has been growing. It has proven itself to be a rare platform when the film audience can not only watch the film together with its cast and crew but also directly interact with them after the screening. We as organizers are looking out at all possibilities to screen selected Nepali films regularly in Delhi, India.”
