Indian Ambassador inaugurates "Exhibition of Indian Art in Nepal"

Ambassador of India to Nepal, Ranjit Rae inaugurated Exhibition of Indian Art in Nepal at Patan Museum in Patan Durbar Square recently.

Organized by Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, the exhibition exhibits paintings by six noted artists of India, namely Laxman Aelay, Sudip Roy, Nagesh Goud, Asit Kumar Patnaik, Anand Panchal and Meghna Agarwal.

The six visiting artists from India arrived in Nepal a week ago and took part in the four-days long Art Camp held at the lawns of Indian Embassy from April 24-April 27. Thus the artworks they created have now been displayed at the exhibition "Exhibition of Indian Art in Nepal"

While opening the exhibition, Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae shared, "I have always had a deep desire to promote exchange activities between Indian art and Nepali art, which share many similarities. I extend my gratitude to all six artists from India for visiting Nepal and making this exhibition possible."

Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, Abhay Kumar also thanked the artists for contributing their time and effort and said, "B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation has always looked out for opportunities to bring together people of Nepal and India through various cultural exchange programmes. Today's exhibition is one of the first exhibitions on Indian art being held in Patan Museum."

The opening of the exhibition was well attended by the noted faces of the art fraternity.
