As Himalaya’s are vulnerable to climate change and snow is melting in faster pace, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s support will be very important to improve the environment of the region.
The recent meeting of NASA Administrator Charles Bolden and ICIMOD's David Molden and Basanta Shrestha Washington is very significant when U.S. Ambassador Peter Bodde was also present.
According to US Embassy, they discussed the SERVIR-Himalaya initiative, which aims to improve environmental management and resilience to climate change in Nepal and the surrounding region.
“Imagine the possibilities when the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) team up to improve the environment,” said statement in US Embassy Facebook timeline.
