Formed in 2002, as an integral part of AIN knowledge management matrix AIN Task Group on Disaster Management and Climate Change (AINTGDMCC) has been continuously updating and sharing the issues and updates within its member organizations and has been taking responsibility to develop understanding on conceptual and operational aspects of disaster and climate change issues in Nepal.
It is a group of experience people within AIN, operates in an informal modalities under the guidance of AIN. The purpose of AIN TGDM is to maximize the positive effects that AIN members can have on the Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation initiatives and Humanitarian Response in Emergencies at all levels.
It is committed to expand its resources to all disadvantaged people in Nepal, especially those vulnerable (children, Women, elderly, disable people…) to Natural Disaster and committed to engage with the government, donors, various sectors of the civil society including poor and excluded people on these issues.
It has a coordinator to facilitate group processes and coordinate activities under the AIN secretariat. Fostering a common knowledge/understanding of the changing context of the country, DRR and development, and ways of working on Emergencies among AIN members and other relevant stakeholders.
Creating an environment for coordination and collaboration among members’ activities to avoid unnecessary duplication and thereby establishing synergy in the DRR, CCA and Emergency Responses in the country.
Recommending adopting HFA 2005-2015 and humanitarian standards that AIN can work on so that it remains an accountable and responsive advocate for DRR and Emergency responses.
