B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and Mahendra Multiple Campus in Dharan jointly organized first edition of “Culture Nagari” at Dharan.
The first edition of Culture Nagari was inaugurated by Bikram Prasad Shrestha, Rector of B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan and was chaired by Tanka Neupane, Head of the Department of Nepali, Mahendra Multiple Campus, Dharan.
“We have been organizing various cultural events in Kathmandu to strengthen further the cultural and intellectual exchanges between India and Nepal. With talented writers and poets spread across Nepal, we were planning to organize two of our monthly events – Conversations and Poemandu, beyond Kathmandu. That is why we are organizing these two events in Dharan. We assure you that this is just the beginning. Culture Nagari will travel to many other places in Nepal,” shared Abhay Kumar, Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation.
The first session of the event “Conversations” had eminent poets and authors of Nepal, Kunta Sharma and Bom Dewan talking about their literary works, which was moderated my critic Deepak Neupane. Likewise, the second session of the event “Poemandu” had fifteen prominent and promising poets from Dharan, Itahari and Biratnagar reciting their poems in Nepali, Hindi and English.
