At a time when UCPN-Maoist led alliance has threatened to launch nationwide agitation, do you think new constitution will be promulgated by January 22, 2015?
No one can stop promulgation of new constitution on schedule. There is no question to bow down to a small group of political force. Of course, we continue to make efforts to forge consensus till November. We will go for majority in case of failing to forge consensus.
How will your party respond to opposition?
One cannot claim the majority voice by gathering merely 2200 people. The recent agitation organized by UCPN-Maoist and its 22 alliance is a part of conspiracy to disrupt promulgation of new constitution.
It means your party will propose for voting in case there is no possibility for consensus?
Yes. There is no way as you cannot put country as hostage. As over 80 percent of Nepalese voted us with a mandate to promulgate new constitution, UCPN-Maoist and Madheshi cannot stop us in taking the decision.
How do you see the possibility of holding referendum in religion, federalism and monarchy as demand by RPP-Nepal?
There is no question to hold the referendum as demanded by the leaders who failed in the elections.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has made it clear that he will continue as a prime minister even after January 22, 2015. How do you look at it?
I cannot believe that Sushil Koirala has made such statement. According to our agreement, Prime Minister Koirala will resign after January 22 paving the way for new government under CPN-UML.
