Ambassador of India, Ranjit Rae Inaugurated Electrification of rural VDCs namely Manpur, Bhawanipur, Mahinatpur, Dhankaul, RamnagarBahuarwa and Rajghat with Indian assistance under Nepal – India Economic Cooperation Programme. The new electrical transmission line with transformers will benefit 4000 residents. Ambassador Rai visited Sarlahi District on 2 Nov.
The Ambassador also laid foundation stone for the following projects being implemented with financial assistance of Government of India. The projects include construction of Shree Sudha Rajeshwar Higher Secondary School, 5 KM Blacktopped Road from Indian Border-Lakshmipur-Balara-Gadhiya, upgradation of road from earthen to blacktop.
According to a press release of Indian Embassy, in addition those projects, six projects in Sarlahi District have already been completed with Indian assistance of NRs. 75.5 million, while work is ongoing for six projects at a cost of NRs. 157.84 million.
Addressing the program, Indian ambassador Rae underlined the importance of the Nepal–India Economic Cooperation Programme as a cornerstone of the relationship between the two countries. He expressed the hope that the various development projects being implemented under the programme will help the people of Nepal in their strides towards peace and prosperity.
