Global IME Bank Ltd has been named the ´Bank of the Year´ in Nepal by The Banker -- a publication of Financial Times.
Global IME Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal and CEO Ratnaraj Bajracharya jointly received the award amid a function held in London on Thursday.
´The Banker´ awards banks with the award annually considering various aspects like its service and financial contribution to the country, among others.
The Banker awarded 149 banks with this award from across the world in 2014. Issuing a statement, the bank said it received the award based on its balance-sheet, success in mergers, financial contribution to Nepali economic development, use of modern banking technology, and the banking service that it provides in rural areas through branchless banking service, among others.
