Narayan Bhatta, a resident of Indian state of Karnataka, was appointed as a Bhatta (Priest) of Pashupatinath Temple. After resignation by chief Priest Mahabaleshwor, Ganesh Bhatta was promoted to the place.

Narayan Bhatta was appointed in vacant position. According to Pashupati Development Trust, he will enter deep inside the temple after visiting all the religious shrines inside Pashupati area.

According to religious practices, only Bhatta's from south of Vindhyachal or Maharashtra are eligible for the appointment of Priest in Pashupatinath Temple.
