Construction of Balephi Hydropower Project is going to be constructed in Sindhupalchok with investment from the private sector has begun.
The construction work of the 10.6 MW-Project is underway with a target to complete it by July 2018. The hydropower project is going to be constructed by the Moonlight Hydropower Company.
Chairman of the Hydropower Company, Birendra Bahadur Neupane, said construction work of the 10-kilometre road from Naubise to the site have already been completed.
The power house will be constructed at Kumale of Selang VDC after constructing the intake at Kumbheshwor of the same VDC.
The project going to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.74 billion will generate 59 million units of electricity annually.
The Nepal Bangladesh Bank will provide the hydro power company with a loan of Rs 1.20 billion for the project while the promoter company will invest Rs 540 million for the same.
The produced power will be fed to the national grid through the Lamosanghu sub-station reports RSS.
