More than 85,000 illiterate in Banke in Nepal

More than 85,000 people have been found illiterate in Banke district.

According to a record maintained by the District Education Office, Banke, among the illiterate ones, women are in large number – 50,469 while rest are the men- 34,615.

It is the data of the last fiscal year. There are a total of 504,548 people in the district. The data analysis mentioned that the goal of eradicating illiteracy could be achieved by 2015 if 20,000 people were made literate every year.

The suggestions for better literary furnished with the data analysis include 11 points like reform in education policy, effectiveness on monitoring mechanism, address of the appointment of teachers and ownership of local bodies in the education program RSS reports.
