A Nepal Army (NA) staffer deployed in UN's South Sudan peace mission died last week.
Issuing a press statement, NA Directorate of Public Relations said Pukar Thapa from Katunje-4 of Bhaktapur fatally fell unconscious during the force protection duty on December 18.
After bringing his body to Nepal, NA paid last tributes to him at a function in the Capital today.
Major General Rajendra Bikram Shah had paid homage to the deceased on behalf of NA.
"Getting martyrdom while working for world peace, brotherhood and humanity is a remarkable sacrifice," NA said in the statement, "His death has expressed Nepal and Nepali's unremitting commitment to world peace."
So far, as many as 60 NA personnel have lost their lives during UN peacekeeping.
