Police arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in abduction of three Nepali students in Thailand on December 19.
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested Thai national Yukas Rehaman (22), Mohammad Jalir (46) and Shreechan Raya (30) of Chhatauna-9, Sarlahi from Kathmandu.
Whereas Rehaman was a Thai national of Pakistani origin, Jalir had reached Thai Capital Bangkok from Malaysia around 20 days ago, according to police.
The two foreigners were arrested yesterday whereas Raya has held today.
Karna Hachhethu, Dibus Rijal and Ronish Shrestha, who are studying in Assumption University in Bangkok, were kidnapped on December 19. They had been held hostage in a small house in Labkrabang area of Bangkok by kidnappers armed with knives.
After the victims' guardians filed a complaint with police in Nepal, CIB had deployed a team to Bangkok. According to police, Raya was assigned to collect ransom from victims' families.
Meanwhile, police requested Nepali students studying abroad to be careful while making new friends and visiting new places.
