Santosh Shrestha has been elected the president of Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN).

In the election for the new executive committee held in Kathmandu, Shrestha, managing director of MARS, received 137 of the 258 votes cast. His opponent Rabindra Kumar Rijal got 118 votes.

Ujaya Shakya and Mohammad Akhter, who were the candidates for the post of vice president, received equal number of votes (127). Both of them have been declared elected. AAN has said it would legalize the decision by making amendment to its constitution later on.

From Shrestha´s panel, Narayan Kumar Shrestha has been elected general secretary, Yadav Kumar Shrestha as Treasurer and Panjak Pradhan, Muna Shrestha and Shalik Ram Ghimire as executive members.

Similarly from Rijal´s panel, Dhiraj Lamichhane was elected as secretary, Yamuna Poudel as joint secretary and Minu Rajbhandari, Ramesh Puri and Roshan Prasain as executive members.

AAN, the umbrella association of advertising agencies, has 263 members
