A delegation of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Saturday morning met with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
In a meeting held at UCPN (Maoist) Chief Dahal’s residecne in Lazimpat this morning, FNCCI President Pradeep Jung Pandey urged the former to take initiative for the timely promulgation of the new statute.
During the meeting President Pandey asked Dahal to withdraw all the protest programs announced by the Federal Republican Front led by UCPN (Maoist). Pandey also suggested to hold intensive talks with the major political parties to arrive at a common ground on disputed issues of the new constitution at the earliest.
FNCCI Disciplinary Committee coordinator and former President Rabi Bhakta Shrestha urged Dahal to withdraw their protest programs saying that such strikes and bands will only devastate the promising environment for investment in the country and disseminate negative messages to both the domestic and foreign investors.
In response, Chairman Dahal said that he has seriously taken the concerns of private sectors, promising that he will take FNCCI proposal in the meeting of the front.
He further stated that the protest programs have been announced to pile pressure on the stakeholders to bring the new constitution on time.
